Shades of Old Hobart Town is loosely based on a series of talks the author Suzanne Smythe did with Paul McIntyre – when he was part of the Chris Wisbey’s Sunday radion show at the ABC.  This show concentrated on Tasmanian history.

Much of the information in the book is largely drawn from stories in the newspapers of the day, and feature many photographs and historic nuggets throughout.
