Description
Central Asia Travel Reference Map
Central Asia is more or less the five Stans that were taken over by the Russian Bolsheviks in the 1920s and administratively declared by Stalin to be Soviet Republics. With the break-up of the Soviet empire in 1989/90, this became Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and the other ‘stans’, excluding Afghanistan.
This double-sided Central Asia Travel Reference map concentrates on the area as a region, from the Caspian Sea to the Hindu Kush knot of Himalayan mountains and from the Russian border south to the Iranian and Afghan borders.
